Shipley Eats
Recipes and sharing food is something that reminds me of family. There are recipes that I now make for my children and husband that my great grandmother made for her family. There is a wonderful history in food and the sharing of recipes. Many of the dishes that I remember from my childhood I have recreated from memory or from asking family members what they remember of the recipe. As I get older and start teaching my children to cook and enjoy sharing food, I have tried numerous ways to keep and safeguard our family favorites.
There is something wonderful about putting pen to paper and I have done a lot of this this. The recipes seem to go missing or more often than not get covered with vanilla or tea. An online collection of recipes is a great way to share recipes across cities and are safe from my many tea stains.
Here's looking forward to a growing collection of family favorites that hopefully my great grandchildren will be able to access and use, further extending the family recipe tree.
